Data Privacy Assistant
Rebeca Ruiz Mair is a Data Privacy Assistant and an undergraduate student at UCLA pursuing a major in Cognitive Science and a minor in Philosophy. They are an international student from Mexico and a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Rebeca is a part of several organizations at UCLA including a Latin American social and cultural club and a peer education group called Sexperts which focuses on sexual health and pleasure. Rebeca is also an intern at the Center for Scholars and Storytellers and assists the company in conducting research. The main goal of the company is to provide media producers better ways to portray identities that have often been left out of the media, or portrayed in a very limited way. Beyond research on media, Rebeca is eager to work on a bigger scale integrating research with policy. They are passionate about accessibility to education and healthcare as well as equity and are excited to pursue these interests as a member of the California Policy Lab.
