Matthew Forbes is a Master of Public Policy student at UCLA’s Luskin School of Public Affairs and a Graduate Researcher at the California Policy Lab. He graduated in 2020 from UC Berkeley with BAs in Economics and Data Science and minors in Public Policy, City and Regional Planning, Political Economy, and Conservation and Resource Studies. At Berkeley, his honors thesis utilized a discrepancy in foreclosure laws between California and its neighboring states during the 2008 financial crisis to conduct a difference-in-differences analysis on how home prices impact the age of homebuyers. Prior to starting at UCLA, he worked as a finance intern for the City of Thousand Oaks.
