Lucy HuangFund Manager
Lucy Huang manages the financial planning processes and the funding life cycle for grants at the California Policy Lab’s UCLA site. Lucy’s interest in CPL’s work was sparked by her experience working as a financial management consultant for a public sector client that funds evidence-based research on affordable housing in the Pacific Southwest. Prior to joining CPL, Lucy worked at Deloitte for five years, where she specialized in project management and fund allocation.
Since joining CPL, Lucy has spearheaded efforts to streamline and improve CPL’s financial planning and forecasting processes. In her role, she works with CPL directors to ensure staff are informed of funding agency deadlines and procedures, and fosters a collaborative working relationship with on-campus finance and accounting partners to ensure compliance with university policies.
Lucy is a certified public accountant and speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese. She holds a Master’s degree in taxation and a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Lucy is from China and lived in Chicago, Philadelphia, and London after college, but she feels the most at home in California. Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering at the Aero Theater and taking art classes at Santa Monica College.
