Summer Institute Research Fellow
Elizabeth Hafen is a Summer Institute Research Fellow and is a fourth-year student, double majoring in Political Science and Psychology at UCI. She is a Latina first-generation, low-income, LGBTQ+ student with goals of being a vehicle for positive systemic change in her various communities. She understands that just like her intersectional identities, there needs to be policy work that is multi-lateral, helpful, and beneficial to the most people, without leaving anyone behind. Her research interests include Latinx systems, immigration, women of color, democratic participation, minority representation, and access to basic needs. On the weekends, Elizabeth can be seen playing Rugby for UCI’s Women’s Rugby Club Team.
