Research Manager, UC Berkeley
Anna Doherty is a Research Manager with the California Policy Lab. Prior to joining CPL, she was a Senior Advisor in the New South Wales Behavioral Insights Unit. In this role, she helped agencies in the state government of New South Wales, Australia, to design and evaluate improvements to how people accessed public services, often with randomized controlled trials. Her work focused on increasing appointment attendance at hospitals, incentivizing tree planting to reduce urban heat island effects, as well as encouraging timely tax payments, applications for energy subsidies and accurate child welfare reports. Previously, Anna worked in environmental public policy and in the not-for-profit sector in Sydney, Australia. She holds a bachelor’s degree with honors from Monash University, a Master of Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Sydney, and in 2019 completed an executive course in implementing public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School.
